SVMC is proudly endorsed by the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinities-American Psychological Association; APA - https://www.apa.org/ & Division 51 - http://division51.net/. Shortchanging boys emotionally negatively affects their social development. We emotionally raise boys differently from girls, because we're afraid they will be weak, "gay", or will be bullied. Overcoming those fears will allow boys to be who they are and feel what they feel without shame or criticism. Girls are allowed to be tomboys, while boys are not allowed to be tingagirls. Supporting emotional health for boys and men will help increase emotional intelligence, decrease aggression and depression, and have positive ripple effects on individuals, couples, families and society.
